Kristina “Kristy” Knowles was born and raised in east Texas, where she attended Stephen F. Austin State University and received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in 1989. Soon after graduating, Kristy moved to Dallas where she worked in corporate accounting for 9 years. In her pursuit of excellence in the field, Kristy obtained her certified public accountant (CPA) license in 1996, and joined the team at Chandler & Knowles in 2000.
As a partner at Chandler & Knowles, Kristy works closely with business clients to analyze and determine the best solutions that drive growth. Kristy is an expert at business structure and entity selection, and is dedicated to helping business owners asses the tax saving benefits and risks associated with each structure. Her extensive knowledge and attention to detail as an accountant offers individual, business, and non-profit clients with advanced tax planning and preparation that maximize deductions and minimize potential risk. Kristy’s dedication and excellence in the field gained her the tittle by community members as the best CPA in Denton county in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2021 by Best of Denton County magazine, a publication dedicated to highlighting businesses and contributors that make Denton County a beautiful and family friendly place to live.
In her personal life, Kristy enjoys spending time with her husband and two children in Double Oak, Texas. She and her husband love to travel and especially enjoy going on cruises.
